Using An Insurance Broker Turned Out To Be A Great Decision

In Fleet, I own a local sandwich and coffee bar, which, due to its fortunate location in the centre of a busy high street, relies on walk in trade. I’ve always been happy with the progression of the business, and keep my business insurance up to date.

Me and my business partner agreed to a new development strategy for 2011 after reviewing our business plan, intended to grow our business over a five year period. My business partner was more of a risk taker than me, and I was initially sceptical about the large investment this new plan would require, but nevertheless we decided I agreed to go for it anyway.

We needed to purchase refrigerated vehicles to develop with our business plan, which would allow us to deliver office lunches to those people who were unable to leave. We currently had one vehicle for one-off deliveries of this kind, and to develop this service we ordered three more vans to be delivered in two weeks.

When I went to a networking group shortly after placing the order for the vans, I began talking with a very knowledgeable insurance broker, whom I explained our business plan to. After admitting my hesitancy over the cost of the insurance, the broker explained that it would be cheaper to get all the vehicles on one fleet insurance policy, which made sense, because they were all being delivered at the same time.

However, I then questioned him about our single van that was due for renewal in 3 months time. He said that I would probably save more money if I kept it on its own policy until the renewal is due and then add it to the fleet policy.

After contacting my broker to arrange the fleet insurance I saved a significant amount of money, and would recommend using your local insurance broker to anyone looking to save money on fleet insurance.

A good insurance broker such as Coversure will be able to secure you the best available deal on your fleet insurance. Even including their broker fees, the chances are that the deal will work out cheaper because of their excellent contacts and influences in the insurance industry. fleet insurance. I Don’t Just Go To Truckfest For The Monster Trucks.

As a freelance truck driver, I am really looking forward to Truckfest this year. In fact my truck insurance is up for renewal and I might be able to get a ‘cheap’ truck insurance deal while I’m there. I say cheap truck insurance, but that doesn’t really exist. Don’t worry, I’m not ‘sad’ and I don’t only to go to Truckfest to talk to the local insurance brokers at their exhibition stands. For a start I normally take my son and he much prefers the Monster Trucks, understandably.

The diversity of Truckfest is one of the best things about it. There are so many people to meet and so much to see, such as new technology brought in by companies, insurance brokers explaining their policies, large haulage firms and small owner drivers, so there really is something there for a huge range of people.

As it is one of the largest outdoor events in the UK, Truckfest is a brilliant way for people to meet, and combines potential employers, trade stands and industry bodies with monster trucks, celebrity guests and exciting family entertainment. Truckfest is used to highlight the advancements in the trucking industry and its technology, and vehicles from standard HGVs and fleets to giant trucks with spectacular artwork and chrome attend.

This event also gets the general public involved with the industry, and even if you aren’t interested in trucks particularly, there is still plenty to do, from craft fairs, and the action packed entertainment to the giant trade stand areas and model shows.

Although I am looking forward to all Truckfest has to offer, my main aim is to find a good comprehensive insurance policy for my truck. I have come to realise that looking for the cheapest insurance deal is not always the best, and a comprehensive deal is a better idea. If I can’t find a good deal at Truckfest, I intend to contact my local insurance broker, because the personal service and level of experience they provide makes the task simple and easy.

Great truck insurance policies are often difficult to find cheap, but all is not lost, you can use an insurance broker like Coversure who are among the best in the business, to secure you a great deal using their contacts and influences in the industry. truck insurance. What Are Your Truck Insurance Needs?

When looking at insurance for your truck, your only priority should not be the cheapest quote, you should also take care when examining what type of coverage you get, so you are actually covered if you should be unfortunate enough to have an accident.

Trucks can be a vital part of a business because they deliver the end product to the client. A business that runs its own trucks it will need to think carefully about insurance. The business will need to think about protecting the expensive asset, and protecting itself against being sued by counter parties. After all – a truck can do a lot of damage if it crashed into a car. The business will also have to think about protecting the cargo in cases of theft and damage from accidents.

Trucks vary in size, and because of this the price of insurance varies widely also. I have seen trucks defined as anything between 3.6 tons and those gargantuan trucks that hold up the motorway and weigh in at 60 tons. The cargos also vary widely, and this too can have an impact on the cost of insurance, For example a truck might carry:

- Livestock - Flammable materials like petrol - Valuable cargo like expensive cars (imagine crashing in to a truck load of Porsches!) - Foodstuff - Important paperwork

The list can go on.

To get honest advice about the insurance you need, and to make sure your truck is insured properly, it is best to speak to a reputable insurance broker. They made also be able to guide you with any questions you may have about other insurance possibilities.

Your insurance broker may also be able to suggest a few ways in which you can lower the risk of accidents, and therefore the risk of claims, and therefore the likelihood of your premiums going up. Your insurance broker will therefore get you the best deal, and help you to keep it.

Ways To Pay Less For Your HGV Insurance But Keep The Same Cover

As fleet manager, it is left to me to organise the best insurance deal for the distribution company I work for, which owns over 20 HGVs. However, I have realised that the cheapest deal is not always the best, and the quality of the service is often more important than choosing a cheaper option that does not comprehensively cover you.

As a company, we have always been concerned with the number road traffic accidents we were recording and the high consumption rate of fuel. In an attempt to tackle both of these issues, we recently announced a reduction of approx. 40% in road traffic accidents involving our trucks since we introduced a new safe driving program for all our drivers. Fortunately our insurance premiums have also reduced by 25% largely due to the new telemetric system we installed 3 years ago and the introduction of our safe driver training program.

Drivers are expected to have regular on the job driver training and follow-up review meetings to discuss training in areas such as speeding, harsh braking and acceleration. Their driving is also monitored and if it is felt that more training is needed our training manage will address the problematic areas.

We have used the same insurance broker for a long time and she has been fantastic, implementing new schemes, freely giving advice and guidance, and even helping negotiate down the insurance premiums. She was very vocal in the implementation of the safe driver program, and also suggested we should put a lower limit on the speed of our HGVs of 54mph, rather than the previous 56mph, to further limit the number of incidents we were involved in.

As a company, we are dedicated to road safety, so although the lowered insurance premiums are good, it was not the only reason for the implementation of the safe driver program. Our company wants to reach a ‘zero’ road incident target by 2012, and we believe that with the support of our drivers and partners like our insurance broker, that this is possible.

To reduce your premiums without skimping on quality comprehensive cover, speak to your local insurance broker. He or she will be able to provide you free advice on how to reduce premiums on a comprehensive policy, meaning you are fully covered, and still have an affordable price!

If you are in need of cover for a single HGV or a fleet, Coversure are an insurance broker and will find you the best deal available. They are well known all over the truck insurance industry.
