Adderall Side Effects in ADHD Treatment

Adderall is one of the most common medications used for treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It was originally manufactured for diet control and weight loss some twenty years ago. It was not until 1996 that this drug was approved by the FDA for unrestricted use for addressing or treating the problem on ADHD. Since then, Adderall had become one of the favorites of doctors among medications used in treating ADHD. The lack of adverse long term effects of Adderall made it one of the best ADHD drugs in the market. However, like any other medications, Adderall side effects were also observed in patients, and some are very worrying.

Some of the many common side effects of Adderall are: sleep problems, restlessness, stomach pain or upset stomach, dry mouth, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, headache, vomiting, unpleasant taste in the mouth, and weight loss. These are usually only mild side effects that can beset an ADHD patient taking Adderall. However, on some patients, the side effects of Adderall can be severe.

More severe side effects of Adderall include but are not limited to: blurred vision, tightness of the chest, suppression of growth in children and teenagers, seizures, fever, tingling in the arms or legs or numbness, irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, severe allergic reactions which may include difficulty breathing, itching, rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or tongue, depression, chest pain, one-sided weakness, significant ongoing stomach pain, frequent and/or painful urination, significant weight loss, fainting, vomiting, changes in speech and vision, uncontrolled muscle movement, mood changes, severe headache, changes in libido or impotence for adults, and addiction.

It is important to seek medical attention right away if any of the symptoms is felt. Like any other ADHD medications, not all patients who are taking Adderall experience any side effects while taking the drug. There are patients who tolerate this medication very well.

It is always important to follow the doctor’s advice on the right dosage and time of taking the drug when taking any kind of medication for ADHD. Doing so can help reduce the adverse effects of Adderall. Parents should also keep close monitoring of their child’s behavior while their child is under this medication. This will help them determine if there is any change in the child’s behavior upon intake of the drug.

Because of the many side effects of drugs for ADHD, many alternative treatments have been used in lieu of these drugs. Clinical studies have shown that ADHD patients respond well to alternative treatments after prolonged usage. Some of the known alternative treatments for ADHD are homeopathic remedies, herbal remedies, counseling, biofeedback, auditory stimulation, and therapy. Before taking any of these alternative treatments, though, you still need to consult the doctor. The doctor is the best person who can pinpoint the right treatment for your child.

Jennifer Kaplan has always been enthusiastic in finding information about the various ways to treat Attention Deficit Disorder. Her latest fact finding mission has been on Adderall side effects and indeed the general long term effects of Adderall, as well as some very real alternatives for some patients who do respond to less conventional ADHD treatment regimes.

Finding An AED Grant

AED’s can be expensive.  They do what they were designed to do; but they are expensive.  Fortunately, a handful of companies award AED grants to help lower your expenses.  This article will show you where to get an AED grant and how to qualify for one.

The good news (part 1) is that qualifying for an AED grant is not difficult…if you know what grant organizations want to hear.

You see, most companies will require a(n)

- Organization Name
- Grant Application Contact Name
- Contact Phone Number
- Address
- Contact Email Address

And they’ll ask for some typical info about the number of AEDs you hope to obtain and what procedures your organization currently uses in the event of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

But get this:  surprisingly, dozens of grant organizations don’t care how many AEDs you want.  Whether you need five or ten defibrillators–or just 1–they don’t care.

No organization or need is too little.  In fact, I overheard one donor say that the most important criterion for him (in approving AED grant applications) is the size and type of the organization.  His number one goal is to put his money where he felt it might do the most good.

In other words AED donors *favor* smaller organizations such as…

- Schools
- Churches
- Fire and Police Departments
- Dental Offices
- Community Centers
- City and County Municipalities
- Volunteer Groups
- Sporting Organizations
- and even Individuals

The good news (part 2), is that AED grants are easy to come by…if you know where to find them and how to search.

(If you have not already) try searching the internet using terms like “AED Grants,” “Defibrillator Grants,” or “AED Sales.”  Many organizations maintain sites with online applications and the forms take minutes to fill out.

Best of all, some AED donors will process your application in as few as seven days and offer discounts of up to 20% off.

So, if you or someone you know could benefit from an AED grant, don’t wait.  Begin the application process today.  Qualifying might be easier than you think.

To apply today, visit our site at http://www.aed-grants.org

Auburn Wa piano teacher or Renton piano tuner

If you live in the state of Washington, you know what a beautiful place it is. The green, green state, the Emerald city, the majesty of Mt. Rainier are all symbolic of the beauty that shines on Western Washington residents.

Western Washington, particularly the Puget Sound area (Seattle specifically) also has a great reputation regarding music. Nirvana, Pearl Jam and other bands helped Seattle emerge in the Grunge Capital of the world.

So, music has always been an important part of the beauty and fulfillment of living in Western Washington.

This brings us to some items which are very important, should you want to think about contributing to the Seattle/Western Washington history of music.

One is about music lessons. The most important, universal and useful instrument is the piano. With a piano you can play great, timeless classical pieces, Billy Joel or Elton John piano vocal songs or your own compositions.

A piano (and the ability to play it) is really all you need.

“So, how do I learn to play?” you might ask. Well, if you’re anywhere in South King County or specifically in Auburn, you’re probably looking for an Auburn (WA) piano teacher. If so, you’ll want to call Marigaie Slettedahl at Marigaie’s Piano Studio in Auburn at 206-735-9011.

With her Masters degree in Piano Pedagogy (teaching piano), she is a very experienced, professional and, in particular, fun piano teacher.

If you have a piano, you also need to have it be in tune. Playing a piano that is out of tune is a lot like running a race with one shoe.

So, if you’re located anywhere in South King County and are looking for, say, a Renton piano tuner, you’ll want to call Steve Huie at 206-419-8647.

Steve has been tuning for a number of years and is excellent and professional.

Call Steve for your tuning needs or Marigaie for your piano lesson needs and you’ll be the better for it.

On another subject, should you need Guaranteed Search Engine Positioning, top notch professional SEO, call Clifton of GSEP.COM at 1-800-851-7666.

Hairstyle Trends of the 1920′s

The long-hair styles of the nineteenth century began to give way to shorter hairstyles like “the bob” during the early 1920′s, a trend which continued to grow in popularity. The original straight, plain, and relatively simple short bobbed hair styles of the early 1920′s were transformed into much more interesting and feminine bobs (with stylish curls and waves) in the middle to late twenties. The stylish bobbed hairstyles of the late nineteen twenties continued their popularity well into the 1930′s. The beautiful short hairstyles of this trend setting era have enjoyed a revival in modern times as hair stylists look back to this period for inspiration.

The most popular hairstyles of the nineteen twenties included the bob, marcel wave, finger wave, and shingle, all of which came with numerous variations. Other hairstyles like the Eton Crop were only temporary phenomenons. Barbers and hairdressers were in competition with each other for the cream of this booming hairdressing business, as women of all ages sacrificed their long tresses on the altar of fashion.

As early adopters of the new shorter hair styles, 1920′s movie stars and other celebrities played a big part in popularizing the new hair fashions through appearances in movies and stage shows, the new hairstyles they sported being eagerly copied by their adoring fans. The high cost of permanent waves when they first became commonly available did not put off women seeking a more permanent hair styling treatment.

In the 1920′s short hair for women was “in” and rapidly took over from the previously fashionable long hair styles. Bobbed hairstyles were considered extremely radical and unattractive by many to begin with but young women and middle aged women embraced the style in increasing numbers. The initial plain bobs were eventually replaced by more stylish and sophisticated bobs that featured waves and curls to add style and interest. Early critics predicted that bobs would be a short-lived fad that would last a couple of years at most and were surprised to find that they continued to grow in popularity well into the 1930′s. In actual fact, the mass migration to bobbed hairstyles turned out to be part of a major revolution in womens hairstyling.

Since 1820, the palace, with its internal offices and stores, became a meeting point for artisans and artists.
